Hit 100 dad jokes posted, never expected the 47th to be the one that stuck

I joined this showdown back in February just to share a pun about my lawnmower, and last night I counted 100 posts from me on the leaderboard. The surprising part is that joke #47, something about a broken flashlight, got more replies than all the other 99 combined. Has anyone else had a random throwaway line blow up while their carefully crafted ones got crickets?

The same thing happens with recipes I post online. I'll spend hours on some fancy dish with layers and glaze, crickets. Then I throw up a photo of plain scrambled eggs with a caption about my kids eating them, boom, hundreds of likes. Life just favors the simple stuff. People connect with the everyday thing they actually see in their own kitchen. Your flashlight joke probably hit that nerve too. It's like the universe likes reminding us we're not as clever as we think.
