Spent $12 on a joke book at a yard sale in Tulsa and it saved my whole week
Everyone in this group keeps voting for the long setup jokes, but I think the short groaners win every time. I grabbed a beat up joke book for $12 at a yard sale in Tulsa three weeks back, and it has more punch than anything I have seen posted here. My favorite one so far: I only know 25 letters of the alphabet, I do not know why. My kids groaned for a full minute, which is how I know it landed. Anyone else think the two liners beat the big story jokes, or am I out here alone on this?
Wait, you paid $12 for a joke book at a yard sale? That seems like a lot for a used book that probably cost $5 new. I have never heard of a yard sale charging that much unless it was like a whole box of books or something. The 25 letters joke is solid though, I will give you that. Short jokes do hit different because you do not have to wait forever for the punchline. Maybe you got ripped off but at least the jokes work.
