Told my kid the same joke 5 times in one week, got a different reaction each time

On Monday I told my daughter 'why don't scientists trust atoms? because they make up everything' and she just rolled her eyes. By Friday after hearing it again she laughed and said 'dad that's actually kind of good'. Has anyone else noticed kids warm up to a joke after hearing it a few times?

You know, I used to think kids just got bored of jokes fast, but hearing about your daughter warming up to it actually changed my mind... maybe they need to sit with a joke a bit before it clicks.
