Was totally against pun-based dad jokes until my kid proved me wrong

I always thought puns were the lowest form of dad humor, like the fast food of jokes. Then my 9 year old told me a pun about a broken pencil during car ride last week, and I laughed so hard I almost missed the exit. Has a specific joke or style ever flipped your opinion on what's funny?

Nah, puns are still the lowest form of humor.

Yeah @victorhill still thinks that huh, but did the kid come up with it themselves?

The whole thing snuck up on me too when my kid dropped a math pun about graphs.

Hell, I'm the opposite. Kid told me a pun yesterday and I pretended to laugh. But later that night I caught myself chuckling about it in the shower. It's like they sneak up on you when you're not paying attention.
