Counter space saved my pour over game at a tiny Airbnb in Portland

Stayed at a cramped spot off Division Street last month, no room for my usual gear. Ended up using a folded kitchen towel and a mug to prop my V60, worked way better than my old setup at home. My ratio went from 1:15 to 1:17 just because I could see the flow clearly. Anyone else had a random travel hack that stuck around?

Wait, you mean I've been lugging around a dedicated pour over stand for two years when a folded towel and a mug could have done the job? That's honestly a little embarrassing to admit. I always figured you needed the proper gear to get the flow right, but after seeing a friend do the towel trick with a Chemex last weekend, I tried it with my own V60 and the coffee came out cleaner, less bitter, just better all around. The whole thing feels more stable than my stupid wooden holder that wobbles on my counter. Honestly, I might just sell the stand and keep the towel method for good, it's cheaper and less to clean too.
