Last Tuesday my espresso machine shot a puck of grounds straight into the ceiling

I was pulling my morning shot like always, tamped it down fine, but the portafilter wasn't locked all the way. Hit the button and POP - coffee grounds everywhere, plus a wet brown circle on my kitchen ceiling. Took me 20 minutes to clean the counter and another 10 to scrub the ceiling with a sponge. My wife walked in and asked if I was starting a new abstract art project. Has anyone else had a machine launch a surprise mud grenade on them?

Same thing happened to me a few months back. I found that taking a microfiber cloth and gently pressing it against the ceiling circle to soak up the wet coffee, then going over it with a magic eraser, cut the cleanup way down. Just have to be careful not to scrub too hard or you'll take off the paint.
