PSA: That 'descale' light on your coffee maker is not a suggestion

I ran vinegar through my Ninja every 6 months for 2 years until a barista in Portland told me that's not enough and I pulled apart my machine to find hard water crud blocking the heating element, anyone else been sleeping on actual descaling frequency?

Man that barista was doing you a solid. I pulled apart my little Mr. Coffee last year and found this weird yellow crust that looked like it had its own zip code. Vinegar once a year is apparently a joke when you have hard tap water.
