Spent $40 on a pack of cheap sketch markers and instantly regretted it
The ink bled through five pages of my new sketchbook and now every doodle looks like a wet newspaper, anyone else have better luck with a different brand under $30?

Whoa, FIVE pages?? That's insane, I've never seen markers bleed that bad before. Man, $40 down the drain AND a sketchbook ruined, that's brutal.

Yeah but the real issue nobody's talking about is what kind of sketchbook @verawhite was using. Cheap paper with low gsm will bleed through with pretty much any alcohol marker. I've messed up plenty of drawings myself before I learned you gotta get at least 200 gsm paper if you're using Copic or similar. Some of those budget sketchbooks claim they're for markers but they're lying. $40 is a lot to lose but if the paper was thin, that's on the manufacturer more than the markers. Live and learn I guess.

Did you try testing them on a scrap piece of paper first? That's like THE most important step before going all in on a fresh sketchbook.
