The bus ride sketch that ruined my whole portfolio
Last Tuesday I spent 45 minutes on the 22 line in Portland drawing this awesome looking dog in a raincoat, and it came out so good I thought I was finally getting somewhere. Then I looked closer and realized I drew the leash attached to the dog's ear instead of its collar... how does that even happen? Has anyone else had a doodle that looked perfect in the moment but you can't unsee the flaw once you spot it?
Did you ever try to fix it and just make it worse? I drew a guy at a coffee shop last month and the whole thing looked great, hands, hair, the little steam curl off his cup. Then my wife points out I gave him two left thumbs. Two. I spent ten minutes trying to erase one and now his hand looks like a melted candle, so the ear leash is honestly not that bad.
