Warning: my quick daily doodle habit nearly died this week, here's what saved it
I've been doing a doodle every day for 2 months, nothing fancy, just 5 minutes with a ballpoint pen on scrap paper. This week I hit a wall on Tuesday, zero ideas, stared at a blank page for 20 minutes and felt like quitting. Then I found a box of old receipts and started doodling on the back of a grocery receipt from Kroger. Something about the tiny space and weird paper made it fun again. I did 3 that day and now I'm hooked on receipt doodles. Anyone else have their daily sketch streak almost die and then a random surface bring it back?

Wait, was it the receipt itself that helped or just breaking the routine of the same old scrap paper? I'm curious if you could've grabbed a napkin or an envelope and gotten the same effect. Cuz if it's the tiny space forcing you to think small, that's a whole different thing than just needing something new to look at.
