Well this week my sketchbook got soaked in coffee at Starbucks on 3rd street

I was having a terrible Tuesday already and then my iced latte tipped over right onto my open doodle page. Completely ruined like 8 hours of sketches I did over the weekend, all that detail work just washed away into a brown mess. I spent the rest of the day trying to save what I could with a hair dryer but it's all wrinkled and stained now. Has anyone else ever salvaged a waterlogged sketchbook or should I just toss it and start fresh?

Heard a trick from a watercolor artist once where they freeze the book to stop mold from growing. Never tried it myself with a sketchbook but I had a paperback get soaked once and freezing it kept the pages from sticking together too bad. Might be worth a try before you toss it, just let it thaw out flat with paper towels between the pages. Your mileage may vary but I'd say give it a shot, coffee stains on sketches can actually look kinda cool if you lean into it.

Bet you could make some cool texture prints from the frozen pages too.

Used the freezer trick on a wet library book once, forgot about it for a year, and when I pulled it out the pages made cool crinkly sounds like leaves.
