My cat decided to join my zoom meeting yesterday and now I use a treat bribe every time
I was in a big work call yesterday and my tabby Leo jumped right on my keyboard mid-sentence. He hit the mute button and then just sat there staring at the camera like he owned the place. Now I put a little dish of his favorite chicken treats on the far end of my desk before every meeting. Has anyone else found a trick to keep their pet from crashing their work calls?

Bless your heart, that is exactly the kind of chaos only a cat can bring to a work call. Our old tabby, Max, learned that if he meowed loud enough during a meeting I would give him a treat just to quiet him down. Now he has me trained to keep a whole jar of temptations on the corner of my desk. The worst part is he will sometimes just walk back and forth in front of the camera and give me this look until I pay up. I have taken to shaking the bag of treats a few minutes before a call starts to get him settled in his bed first. It is not a perfect system but it beats him hitting the delete key on a shared document.

Read a vet saying try a heated cat bed near your desk, seems smarter than my treat bribe plan.

My neighbor's dog once howled through an entire presentation I was giving, so now I leave a Kong stuffed with peanut butter in the hallway to distract him. Works like a charm, though I nearly tripped on it yesterday.
