My cat decided today was the day to knock over my 3 foot ficus tree

Came home from a job trimming pines to find dirt all over the kitchen floor and the ficus leaning on the trash can. Stormy just sat there cleaning her paw like she did me a favor. Had to sweep up and repot the whole thing, but honestly the look on her face was kind of worth it. Anyone else's pet pick the worst days to go full chaos mode?

Man, I feel your pain on this one. My dog once decided to dig up my wife's prized rose bush right after I'd just finished mulching the whole garden. I was so mad but then he rolled around in the dirt with his tongue hanging out and I couldn't stay upset. Cats have that same talent for making you laugh while you're cleaning up their mess. Stormy sounds like a character. Hope the ficus bounces back okay.

Three feet is really not that tall for a ficus, you know? I have a five foot one in my living room and my cat has bumped into it plenty of times, it never even tips over. Maybe the pot was too small or the roots weren't anchored well. I'm not saying Stormy didn't cause the mess, but a healthy tree in a proper pot shouldn't just fall over from a cat paw. Sounds like you might need a heavier ceramic pot and some better soil packing. Then again, cats are jerks so maybe I'm giving yours too much credit.
