My cat figured out the treat cabinet after 3 years of living here

Last week I was reorganizing the pantry in my house on Elm Street and my old cat Whiskers just walked right up and pawed at the cabinet where I keep the temptations. I thought it was cute at first but then she pushed the child lock open with her nose. Three years ago she was too scared to even come out from under the couch and now she's smarter than the lock I bought at Home Depot for 12 bucks. Has anyone else had a pet suddenly figure out something they never did before?

Had to move the bird feeder to a new spot after my dog finally figured out how to climb the tree it was on.

Wait, your dog actually climbed a tree? Like a cat? How did he even get the grip for that? Idk, some dogs are just too smart for their own good. My lab figured out how to open the sliding door last summer, and I had to start locking it with a stick through the track. It's wild how they just keep learning new tricks even when they're supposed to be slowing down.
