My cat knocked over my plant stand for the third time, so I gave up on glass pots

Last Tuesday my tabby Luna decided the 4-foot shelf on my porch was a launch pad and sent my big spider plant crashing onto the concrete patio. I spent 20 minutes picking up shattered terra cotta and dirt, and honestly I was ready to rehome the plant entirely. But after I swapped everything to cheap plastic nursery pots and strapped the shelf to the railing with zip ties, she just sits and watches now. Anyone else had to redesign their whole setup just because their pet is a chaos agent?

Isnt it wild how pets basically force you to become a home improvement engineer overnight? Ive seen it with my friends too, they all have some janky setup now like velcro strips on every shelf or heavy rocks holding down plant bases. It's like we all learn the hard way that our decor is really just a suggestion to them. Once you figure out the zip tie trick though, you never go back, it's a whole new level of trust in your own handiwork.
