My cat taught my dog how to open the pantry door, now I can't keep them out

I mean, I always knew the dog was smart but the cat is the real brains. This morning I walked into the kitchen and saw my beagle standing on his hind legs, pawing at the cabinet handle just like the cat does. Turns out after 3 weeks of watching her do it, he finally copied the move. They got into the bag of treats and tore it open, must have been a good 2 cups scattered everywhere. I had to move the food to a higher shelf with a latch, but now the cat just sits there staring at me all judgmental. Has anyone else had a pet pick up a bad habit from another one? How did you break the team up?
