My dog figured out the treat jar lid before I did
Caught my 70 pound lab mix popping the lid off the treat jar with his teeth yesterday, something I thought was impossible. Turns out he watched me twist it for 3 weeks and learned the exact motion, then taught the cat to knock it off the counter. I tested it by leaving the jar in a different spot and he still got it open in under 2 minutes. The real fix was a screw-top container, cost me $4 at the dollar store, which he hasn't cracked yet. Anyone else's pet outsmart a simple latch or lock that you assumed was safe?

Dogs don't really learn by watching and copying like that, they're more about trial and error. He probably figured out the lid pops off from messing with it, not by memorizing your twist motion. Still impressive either way though.
