Honestly used to find that kind of thing annoying, like come on let's go. Watching my own dog do the same slow check this morning totally flipped that view. It really is a little lesson in paying attention, if you let it be. That simple focus they have is something we lose. Makes you want to put your own phone down and just look at things properly for a minute.

You think that's bad? My snail spent twenty minutes on one leaf edge, like it was reading the fine print on a cosmic contract. My dog does a full forensic review of the same lamppost every single walk. At this point, I'm waiting for my cat to draft a thesis on the ontological implications of the spot of sunlight moving across the floor. They're all tiny, furry, shelled professors and we're just living in their university.
