My dog's water bowl hack saved me from 3 refills a day

I kept filling my lab's bowl like 6 times daily because she splashes half of it out. Then I noticed she drinks better from a wide, shallow dish, so I swapped to a $5 ceramic plant saucer from Home Depot. Now I only refill twice a day and the floor stays dry. Anyone else's dog a messy drinker with a simple fix?

Figured this was just another gimmick until I tried it with my own mess of a golden retriever. I always thought deeper bowls kept water from splashing, but it actually made things worse cause she'd shove her whole face in and drag it out. Swapped to a wide plant saucer last week and honestly the difference is wild, the floor is actually dry for once. I mean, I still wipe up some dribble but it's nothing like the swamp I used to deal with. Good call on the cheap ceramic too, I was about to drop $30 on some fancy bowl and this works way better.
