Old timer told me to switch to a harness for my golden retriever, and I'm glad I listened.

I used to just clip the leash to his collar, but this retired firefighter at the dog park pointed out how much strain it puts on their neck. Tried a front-clip harness last week and my dog stopped pulling completely. Has anyone else made that switch and seen a difference?

Front clip harnesses are great but they can actually cause some dogs to pull harder if they're really reactive, so it's not a magic fix for every dog lol. The main thing is preventing neck injuries which is always worth it. Glad it worked out for your golden though.

Oh man, @lee.drew you just reminded me of my buddy's dog who would literally flip over backwards when he hit the end of a front clip harness. Scared the heck out of me first time I saw it. They're definitely not a one size fits all thing, that's for sure.

Funny how that's true for just about anything, isn't it? Nothing's one-size-fits-all.
