Question about that probiotic dog food I switched to three weeks ago

So I got really tired of my dog having these weird gassy episodes (like, clear the room bad) and the vet suggested trying a probiotic food. I went with a brand from a local pet store in Austin called Primal Pets, the one with freeze dried bits in it. Three weeks in and my dog's stomach is totally calm, no more stinky farts at all. But here's the weird unexpected thing - her coat got way shinier too, like noticeably better after just two weeks. I honestly didn't expect that side effect from a probiotic food, I thought it was just for digestion stuff. Has anyone else seen this happen with their dog when switching foods?

honestly i think yall are reading way too much into a food switch lol. like yeah the gassy stuff is obviously a real thing but a shinier coat? i dunno. could be anything. maybe its just the weather changing or shes grooming herself more. or you just started noticing because you thought it would happen. placebo effect for dogs is a real thing i swear. i switched my dogs food three times last year and every time i convinced myself there was some magical improvement until they got bored of it and went back to being their normal weird selves. not saying its not possible but three weeks is basically nothing in dog years so maybe pump the brakes before we call it a medical breakthrough
