Showerthought: the vet tech who said my dog's nails were 'clicking like tap shoes' made me change how I walk him
She wasn't being mean, just honest, and said I was letting him trot on pavement for 30 minutes a day because I thought it filed them down on its own. Now we do two laps around the block on grass and I trim every 3 weeks with the $12 clippers she showed me, and he actually stands still for it. Has anyone else had a stranger point out something small that turned into a whole routine change?
Man, that is such a real thing, how one tiny comment from a stranger can basically rewrite your whole day. Same deal happened to me when some guy at the dog park casually mentioned my leash was too long for the sidewalk, and suddenly I'm doing this whole figure eight thing on every walk. It's wild how we just accept a routine without ever questioning it until somebody points it out. Half the stuff I do now came from some random person saying one sentence I couldn't stop thinking about. Strangers have no idea how much power they're holding when they open their mouths.
