Spent 6 months trying fancy harnesses that my cat hated
Finally got fed up and tried just tying a loop in a piece of paracord as a quick fix. She walked right out the door like it was nothing. Anyone else have a pet that just refuses standard gear?

My cat loved a shoelace harness more than anything I bought.

The "more than anything I bought" part really hits home. I learned this the hard way after spending like 60 bucks on a fancy mesh harness that my cat just sat in and refused to move. I grabbed an old shoelace one day out of frustration, tied it up in a figure eight, and she walked right out the door with me like it was nothing. The trick is to keep the fit snug but not tight, and tie the knot so it sits right behind their shoulder blades so they can't slip out backward. Another thing, check the lace for fraying every time because if it snaps while you're out it's a whole mess. I keep a backup lace in my pocket now just in case.
