The day my dog taught me to actually read treat labels... at PetSmart no less

I was at PetSmart in Huntsville grabbing my usual bully sticks (like I've done a hundred times) when my golden retriever, Gus, started whining at this random bag of salmon treats. I bent down to look and noticed the ingredients list was literally just 'salmon' - no fillers, no preservatives, nothing. I flipped over my usual bully stick bag and realized it had like 12 ingredients, half of which I couldn't pronounce. Has anyone else had a pet pick out their own food based on smell or is my dog just a weirdo?
