Tried a clicker for my parrot and I was so wrong about it

Ngl, I thought clicker training was just for dogs and totally gimmicky, but my African grey Rio kept biting the blinds no matter what I tried. After 2 weeks of using a $6 clicker from the pet store to reward him for stepping away, he now ignores the blinds completely and even does a little spin. Has anyone else had a training tool they swore off that ended up being a game changer?

That spin trick is probably just the beginning too. Once they figure out the clicker means treats, they start offering all kinds of behaviors on their own, it's kind of wild. Just be ready for him to start training you, my grey figured out pretty fast that clicking any object near her gets her a nut.
