Was dead set against getting a cat fountain, now my orange tabby won't drink from a bowl at all
I spent $35 on a cheap plastic one three months ago thinking it was a gimmick but he went from ignoring his water dish to lapping at the fountain like it's the greatest invention since sliced bread, has anyone else's picky pet suddenly changed their habits over something you thought was nonsense?

My buddy Mike bought a cheap fountain for his picky calico last spring. She ignored water bowls for years but now follows him around meowing when the fountain runs low. He laughs about it but admits she finally stays hydrated without him nagging.

Bought my cats a fancy fountain once and they just used it as a weird new water bowl.

Read somewhere that cats in the wild prefer moving water because it's usually cleaner and less likely to be contaminated. Makes sense why my orange dummy went from ignoring a stale bowl to acting like the fountain is a five star restaurant. The cheap plastic one I got has a little filter that probably makes it taste better too, which probably helps.
