Caught myself scooping ice with the wrong side of the disher for a year

I worked at this little custard stand in Phoenix every summer, and last week a customer asked why my scoops were always flat on top, that's when I realized the thumb lever was supposed to press the ice out, not act as a handle. Has anyone else gone months using a tool completely backwards and then felt like an idiot when someone pointed it out?

Tried to use a hammer as a screwdriver once, only figured out the head was magnetic when I dropped a nail in the wall gap. At least your scoops looked uniform, mine just left dents in the drywall.
