Just realized I have been wrapping my sandwiches wrong for 30 years

Saw a deli worker in Chicago fold the paper around the middle instead of tucking the ends and suddenly my lunch stays together now - has anyone else been missing this trick their whole life?

LOL the "tucking the ends" thing is literally my life story. I spent 30 years making sad little sandwich burritos that would explode on my lap during lunch breaks. Last week I saw a video of a deli worker doing that middle fold and I felt like such a fool. My sandwiches now actually stay closed and I'm mad at my past self for not figuring this out sooner. I bet I've lost like a whole year's worth of sandwich filling to the floor over the years lmao.

There's actually some science behind it @williams.jenny. I read an article a few months ago that said the middle fold creates better tension on the paper so it actually grips the sandwich instead of just sitting there loose. The ends were always my problem. I'd get halfway through lunch and the whole thing would unroll like a sad tortilla. Thirty years of wondering why my lunch was a disaster and it turns out I just needed to fold it like a normal person.
