My dishwasher flooded the kitchen at 11pm and I mopped it up with a beach towel
Last Thursday the dishwasher started leaking soapy water all over the floor, right as I was about to go to bed. I heard this weird gurgling sound and walked in to find a puddle about 4 feet wide spreading toward the hallway. The only thing clean enough to soak it up was a beach towel from our Myrtle Beach trip, so now that towel smells like lemon dish soap. I turned off the water valve, pulled the machine out, and found a cracked hose that would cost $14 to replace. The repair guy can't come until next Tuesday, so we've been hand washing dishes for 6 days in a row. Did I mess up by not just buying the hose and trying it myself, or is a cracked hose a sign something bigger is wrong?
