Paid $60 for a fancy kitchen thermometer and it broke after one use
I bought this digital probe thermometer from a trendy cooking store last Tuesday, used it to check a chicken breast, and the screen just went blank after I washed it by hand. Has anyone else had luck with the cheap $10 ones at the grocery store instead?

Oh man that sucks, I feel your pain. Those expensive ones seem to fail way faster than the cheap ones sometimes.

Yeah totally, I had a buddy who bought one of those high end blenders, like $600. Thing died after six months, motor just burned out. Meanwhile @the_mary, I'm still using my $40 one from Target that's been going for years now. Weird how that works out sometimes.
