Used to hand write my grocery list every Sunday, now I just use voice notes at the store
For like 5 years I'd sit down with a paper and pen every Sunday night and map out my whole week of meals, maybe 20 items each time. Then last fall I started just mumbling into my phone while driving to the store, like 'need milk, eggs, chip dip' and honestly shopping takes half as long now. The downside is I forget what I said by the time I'm in aisle 4 and end up buying weird stuff like two jars of pickles. My grandma would be horrified but she also never had to deal with a toddler grabbing everything off the shelves. Has anyone else swapped their whole list system or am I just lazy now? Also anyone got a better app than the notepad one that doesnt eat my voice memos?

Same thing happened to me with the toddler chaos. Voice notes work until they don't. Now I just keep the note app open and add stuff as I run out during the week. For the pickles problem, try saying the aisle number out loud after each item, like "milk aisle 3." Forgetting the list is worse than making it, so I started taking a photo of the fridge and pantry before I leave. That way I can check what I actually have instead of guessing. Also your phone's default recorder probably has a trash icon, check if your memos got sent there before you lose it.
