Found out my town's library has a 3D printer you can book for free

I mean, I was just looking for a book on fixing my bike and saw a sign. They said they got a grant last year and you get two hours a week for personal projects. I printed a little phone stand today and it worked. Anyone else have a local spot with something like this that surprised them?

Yeah, @john650 is right about the classes, mine had a waitlist for the 3D printing intro too. I was shocked how many people showed up.

Check if they offer classes too. Mine had a beginner session on Tinkercad that showed how to design your own stuff, not just print files. It's wild what you can make once you learn the basics.
