Frustrated at the community garden on 5th street this morning

I showed up early today to water my plot before work, and someone had shoved their old tomato cages right on top of my pepper plants. Ruined three of them before I noticed. I get that folks are in a hurry, but it took me 20 minutes to untangle the mess and stake my babies back up. Has anyone else dealt with neighbors just dumping stuff on your section without asking?

That tomato cage move is a real pain (I feel your pepper pain, trust me). Best thing I did was label my plot with a cheap wooden sign that says "please don't dump gear here" and put up a small hook for people to hang notes if they need to borrow something. Also, take a photo of your setup every week so if someone messes with it again, you have proof for the garden coordinator on the spot.

My buddy had someone dump a bag of half-rotted compost RIGHT on his new seedlings last spring. He was so mad he took pictures and posted them on the community board, and the person actually apologized after that.

Wait, wasn't the compost supposed to help his garden though?
