I chose the cheap running shoes over the $150 ones at Fleet Feet last week

Everyone in my running group swears by the expensive brands. But I grabbed a pair of New Balance from the discount rack for $45. They felt fine on my 3 mile loop, no blisters or weird rubbing. Maybe I'll regret it at 10 miles, but for now I'm happy I didn't blow my budget. Anyone else go cheap on gear and not regret it?

Sometimes expensive shoes just help you run faster from your wallet.

Yeah my wallet runs way faster than I do, that's for sure. I bought $20 shoes from a discount store once and they lasted all of three runs before the sole started flapping like a sad pancake. But for a casual 3 miler, saving that hundred bucks totally makes sense if they don't wreck your feet.
