My $80 printer jammed 3 days before my work presentation

Our office printer in Austin ate a crumpled receipt right before I needed 40 copies for the board meeting, and of course the IT guy was out sick. I spent 2 hours with a flashlight and tweezers digging out paper bits, then the drum light started blinking like a disco ball. Finally I gave up and drove to the FedEx on Lamar, where they printed everything for $12 and it looked 10x better anyway. Now I keep a backup PDF on my phone and check the printer tray before I even hit print, you know, the old look-twice-cut-once thing. Does anyone else have a go-to plan when office gear fails at the worst possible moment?
