My buddy's 2 a.m. text about his divorce changed how I see my own marriage
He said 'I kept score for 11 years and the scoreboard burned us both down' and it hit me that I've been doing the same thing over little stuff like who unloaded the dishwasher. Has anyone else caught themselves keeping score and actually stopped?

Does it ever feel like keeping score is just a way to protect yourself from feeling dumb for doing more? I caught myself doing the same thing with trash bags and laundry, and honestly, the only thing that helped was saying out loud, "I don't want to be right, I want to be done fighting." It took a few weeks of actively letting stuff go before my brain stopped tallying, but the weird part is, once I stopped, I realized I wasn't losing anything. That scoreboard was just a wall I built to avoid actually talking about what I needed.
