Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say something that stuck with me

I was grabbing a latte this morning and this older dude at the next table told his friend, 'I stopped waiting for the perfect moment and just started doing stuff badly.' Made me laugh because it's so true... I've been putting off cleaning out my garage for like 4 months because I wanted a whole Saturday free. So today I just did 15 minutes of it between meetings and actually got a corner cleared. It wasn't perfect but it's way better than yesterday. Anyone else find that just starting small helps you get past the mental block?

The 15 minute trick works for almost anything. Set a timer and just do the first little bit without worrying about finishing. That usually gets the ball rolling and you end up doing more anyway. I do the same thing with cleaning my workspace, just a quick 10 minute blitz between tasks instead of waiting for a whole hour block that never comes. The garage is one of those spaces that feels huge but breaks down into small chores once you start.

Dude's probably never seen the inside of a gym then, with that philosophy. 15 minutes beats staring at a messy garage for 4 months though.
