Still annoyed about that $50 deposit I lost on a rental skid steer last Friday

Rented a Bobcat from the place on Route 9 for a weekend job, returned it clean with a full tank, and they still hit me with a cleaning fee because there was a little mud on the tires. Has anyone else had this happen with equipment rentals or is it just me?

Whole rental industry seems built on finding ways to keep deposits these days. Same vibe as car washes charging extra because you missed a spot on the floor mats.
