That $60 meal kit I tried gave me three days of pure regret

I caved and ordered one of those fancy meal kit boxes last Tuesday, thinking it would be a nice break from my usual rotation of frozen pizza and sad desk salads. Total cost was like $60 for three recipes, and honestly, the portions were so tiny I had to make a box of mac and cheese on the side just to feel full. Plus, two of the three bags had wilted herbs and a leaky sauce packet that stained my counter, which was pretty gross. The only real win was the teriyaki chicken bowl, but I could have grabbed that from the corner place for $9 and skipped the prep work entirely. Has anyone else gotten burned by these subscription boxes, or is it just me and my terrible luck with choice? I'd rather hear about a cheap freezer meal that actually works than drop another dime on this.

Man, @bennett.nora gets it completely. Frozen stir-fry bags are the whole reason I still eat vegetables at all on busy nights.
