TIL the $30 phone tripod from the mall kiosk snapped on day one and my phone hit the curb
I noticed a bunch of people in this group cheering tiny wins, so I want to share a small loss that might save someone else a few bucks. The guy at the kiosk near Macy's in Columbus talked me into a $30 tripod for filming my garden, and it felt flimsy but I figured it would hold. On my first try the plastic clip cracked, the phone dropped face down, and I'm out $30 plus $118 for a screen fix. Save your money and order a real one online, or just prop your phone on a bucket like I do now. Has anyone else been burned by those mall kiosk sellers, and what do you use instead?
