Tried washing my car at home with a bucket instead of the $12 drive thru and the difference shocked me
Last Saturday I finally got tired of paying $12 at the drive thru on Route 9 and decided to just do it in my driveway with a bucket, some dish soap, and an old sponge. It took me about 40 minutes and I probably used 3 gallons of water total. The car looked cleaner than it ever did after the drive thru, especially the wheels and the lower doors where that place always left dirt. Turns out the brush thing at the drive thru was just smearing grime around, and hand washing actually got it off. Anyone else switch to washing at home and notice it lasts longer between washes?
Always figured the drive thru did a better job til I tried the bucket thing myself last month. Now the car stays clean way longer and I'm not dropping twelve bucks every other week.
