Hit $500 in credit card cash back this year and it felt way too easy
I just checked my rewards account and realized I've racked up $500 in cash back just from using one card for gas and groceries since January. No big spending sprees or anything fancy, just the regular stuff I buy every week. Anyone else surprised how fast these small rewards add up when you're not even trying?

Oh completely agree with Nathan but let me tell you what happened to my friend Sarah. She was so proud of getting $400 back last year and then her bank changed the rewards structure without really telling anyone. She went to use her points for a flight and they told her she needed like 50% more points than before because of some fine print. Now she's stuck with this card that barely gives anything back and she doesn't want to close it because it's her oldest account. The banks are definitely making way more off us than they give back in cash, it's just that $500 feels good in the moment before you realize it's chump change compared to what they earn.

Honestly, $500 feels like nothing when you consider how much they profit off our spending.
