I finally found a way to cut my grocery bill without clipping coupons
Last month I started buying the store brand versions of things I use most, like pasta sauce and cereal. Turns out the generic stuff is just as good and costs about 30% less. I noticed my weekly total dropped from $120 to around $85 after three trips. My neighbor laughed at me for trying it, but now she does the same thing. Anyone else had luck with off-brand swaps at their local market?

The Great Value spaghetti sauce at Walmart is honestly BETTER than Prego to me, it has more chunks and less sugar. I started swapping my paper towels and aluminum foil too, and that's where the real savings hide. Even the cereal is fine, though I draw the line at generic Goldfish crackers, those are NOT the same. My bill dropped about $25 a week too, which adds up to like $100 a month that I put straight into savings.
