My coupon stacking experiment at the grocery store went completely sideways

I saw online that you could combine a digital coupon with a paper one for double savings on laundry soap, so I gave it a shot. At checkout, the cashier had to call a manager over because the system kept beeping, and we held up the line for like ten minutes. The manager finally said the digital coupon was for a different size, so I only saved 75 cents instead of the $5 I expected. Has anyone else had a coupon fail that turned into a whole scene?

Coupon fails are the worst, especially when you get your hopes up. Read a whole thread last week where someone's buy-one-get-one free deal got messed up because the barcode was old. @robinson.hannah has a point about the fuss, but that ten minute wait with a full cart is its own special kind of torture. The fine print always gets you, like when it says "select varieties" and of course yours is the one not included.
