My cousin swore clipping digital coupons in the app was a scam, then I caught her scanning them at Aldi
Three weeks back my cousin kept saying those store app coupons were fake savings because the prices get jacked up first. I was at the Aldi on Route 1 with her and she pulled out her phone, scanned a $2.50 off deal on pasta sauce, and the total dropped right there on the screen. She got quiet and then said the price was the same as last week, so the coupon was just a straight discount. I ended up downloading the app that night and stacked $11 in paper coupons with $6 in digital ones on my Saturday run. Has anyone else had luck mixing paper and app coupons at the same register, or do some stores block that?
Kind of a small thing but I don't think the paper and digital ones stacked the way you're describing... at most stores the app coupons and the paper ones come out of different buckets, so the register takes them one after the other, not combined into one discount. Aldi is actually one of the harder ones for that because a lot of their digital deals are store specific and won't work with a manufacturer paper coupon on the same item. So the $11 plus $6 might've been on different things, not truly stacked on the same products. Not saying you didn't save money, just that it probably wasn't double dipping like it sounds.
