My favorite blender died mid-smoothie this morning and I finally got why cheap ones fail
The motor literally smoked out after 18 months of light use. I pulled it apart and the plastic gears were completely stripped, so now I'm hunting for one with a metal drive shaft. Any recommendations for a blender under $100 that actually lasts?

That sucks, man. Nothing worse than a breakfast interruption and a dead appliance. Hope you find something solid with metal guts soon.

Metal guts" might mean more plastic parts these days, but I guess that's just how things are going now.

yeah the plastic gear thing is such a scam. i had a similar one go out and found a ninja with a metal base for like 80 bucks. been going strong for two years now so worth the extra few bucks.
