My neighbor told me I was throwing money away on paper towels at Costco

She showed me her rag bin and now I haven't bought a single roll in 6 months, saved about $40 so far but I still keep a pack of shop towels for the really nasty stuff, anyone else made the switch with mixed results?

Rags work till they don't" - yeah, that's pretty much how most things go in life... you push something way past its limits and then it just gives out all at once. I've noticed this pattern with everything from old cars to relationships. People keep using something that's clearly worn down, hoping it'll hold together just a little longer. Then one day it's not a slow decline, it's a complete breakdown with no warning. Same with bad habits or coping mechanisms, they sort of work for a while until they absolutely don't anymore and you're left picking up the pieces. It's like the universe has this timer on things that are held together with duct tape and good intentions.
