My sister's fridge magnet list turned into our family deal hub
I started noticing that my sister keeps a list of discounts on her fridge. It began with just coupons, but now it has codes from online sales too. Last month, she saved us all money on school supplies by sharing a back-to-school promo. I think more families are doing this kind of thing to cut costs. It's a simple way to help each other out without much effort. Has your family picked up any habits like this?

We've got a group text for sharing grocery deals too.

Yeah, group texts for deals can be a lifesaver... until someone starts spamming every coupon they find. I remember one time my aunt added like 20 people to a chat, and it just blew up with alerts all day. We had to mute it eventually, which kinda defeated the purpose. @valfisher, your setup probably works better if everyone's on the same page. Still, saving money on groceries is worth the hassle most days.

Have you thought about how constant deal sharing could push you to buy things you didn't plan to get? I find that when my phone buzzes with a new grocery discount, I feel tempted to grab it even if I don't need it. That impulse can wipe out the savings from being careful with other purchases. It's like the group text becomes a source of temptation instead of help. We might need to set rules about only posting deals for staples or items the group agrees are necessary. Otherwise, the chat might cost us more than it saves.
