People keep confusing sale price with actual savings
I see folks at the grocery store in Tulsa grabbing stuff tagged 50% off without checking the original price. Last week there was a bag of chips marked down to $4 from $8, but the same brand was $3 regular at the store down the road. Check the unit price before you buy, not just the discount sticker. Has anyone else caught stores playing games with the base price?

...and that's exactly why I'm the guy who brings a calculator to the grocery store and still manages to buy the wrong bag of chips. Last week I spent five minutes comparing unit prices on two boxes of cereal, felt really proud of my math skills, and then got home to realize I bought the one that had a hole in the box. Guess my savings went straight into the floorboards of my trunk. It's like the universe knows I'm trying to be smart about this stuff and just laughs. At least I can console myself with the thought that I'm not the only one out there fighting the good fight against deceptive discount stickers and losing.

I just started bringing my reading glasses and it honestly helps a ton.

You ever try snapping a photo of the price tag with your phone? I do that now so I can compare while I'm still standing there without having to remember numbers. It stopped me from buying the wrong size bag more than once.
