PSA: Using a separate browser for shopping might save you more than any coupon code ever could
So here's the thing. I kept seeing prices go up on stuff I was looking at, like a backpack I had my eye on for a week. One day it was $45, next day $55. I thought it was just inflation or whatever. Then a buddy told me about 'dynamic pricing' where sites track your cookies and bump prices if they think you're serious. I tried opening the same item in a private browser window and boom, back to $45. Is this a real thing or just coincidence? Has anyone else caught sites doing this? Started doing all my big shopping in incognito mode now and it feels paranoid but the numbers don't lie.

Sounds about right. Next thing you know they'll charge you extra for blinking at your screen too long.

Incognito mode is basically fighting fire with fire.

Yeah @finleym43 that's actually a good way to put it. Incognito doesn't really hide you from anything except maybe your roommate. It's more like privacy theater than actual protection.
